No, these are resources to get a headstart on learning the tools, concepts and languages that you will be learning in the Software Engineering Programme.
You will learn and get to practice once the programme starts, so here is what we suggest:
- Look at the curriculum and begin with the topics there.
- Start working along with the examples in the C book -- see how many you get through in a week.
- repl.it is an online code editor you can use without having to set up anything to begin coding in C and many other languages right away.
- Take notes as you go and reflect on your learning at least once a week to solidify your understanding .
Basically, the best way to learn is to both read the theory and practice the concept. If you start with C, this will make the first sprint / three months of the Software Engineering Programme easier, especially if you are new to programming.
