Part 2 will challenge your skills-fit for the ALX Software Engineering Programme. Part 2 consists of three levels. Upon completion of each level, you will receive a selection decision.
This is not timed.
In this level, you’ll learn about the history of software engineering, learn some basic commands, and interpret your first lines of code.
We recommend you set aside 1-3 hours for Level 1.
You’re going to build your own website step-by-step, from scratch.
We’ll provide you with just enough information to get going. The rest is up to you, your research, and your resilience.
Once you start Level 2, you will have two weeks to build your website and click submit.
We will close and grade your Level 2 challenges at the end of the 2 weeks.
Final step is to take the 30-minute retention test in Level 3.
During this challenge, you’ll be asked to do a few things on a new remote server, many of which will be familiar from Level 2.
You now have access to your new server to complete Level 3. You can find it on your application portal.
The entire experience will take 2-3 weeks, so we recommend that you pace yourself.
